About Risako Yamamoto
Risako Yamamoto is a graduate of New York College of Holistic Medicine and Research on Long Island, where she received a Masters of Science in Acupuncture. She is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and is certified by the NCCAOM.
She has been in private practice since 2000. Currently her offices are located in Manhattan and Bayside, Queens. Risako is certified from Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital to treat cancer patients. She is also certified to practice Cosmetic Acupuncture.
In addition to maintaining a successful private practice, she was a working member of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine care team at the St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center (SVCMC) in Manhattan. As a SVCMC acupuncture fellow, Risako treated a diverse patient population with disabilities resulting from traumatic injuries, accidents and debilitating medical conditions. In addition, she treated patients with following conditions or complications at SVCMC: HIV, hypertension, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, chronic bronchitis, COPD, ulcer, renal disease, urogenital conditions and cerebrovascular disease.
Her clinical experience includes treatments for general wellness, pain management, infertility, immune system health, digestive system disorder, women’s health and cosmetic acupuncture. Risako’s work in Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation was featured in the January 2004 issue of FIT yoga.
