About Minchun Chen
Dr. Minchun Chen, a licensed Oriental medical practitioner certified by National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), currently practices acupuncture and herbal medicine at her private practice and Won Institute. She is a professor at the Won Institute, which has the only Master’s Degree program for acupuncture in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Chen graduated from Nanjing Medical University with an MD degree in 1982. In China, she worked as a licensed internist and endocrinologist for 8 years. Continuing her studies in Germany, she earned a PhD (1994) exploring disease-causing genes for Graves disease and Diabetes at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.
She learned acupuncture and herbology from national-renown doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She frequently returns to Nanjing, China to update her expertise in acupuncture and herbology at prestigious Nanjing University’s school of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Empowered by these unique backgrounds, Dr. Chen incorporates knowledge of modern cutting edge western medicine, acupuncture, and traditional Chinese herbal medicine in creative ways to provide holistic health care for her patients. She has many great successes in treating various physical and emotional illnesses, in particular, pain management including cancer pain, menopause, infertility, skin diseases, allergy, depression, anxiety and obesity.
