Can acupuncture and Chinese medicine treat bed-wetting? My daughter is 12 years old and is struggling with this issue.?

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are extremely successful in the treatment of bed-wetting. There are whole books written on just this subject. Book on Acupuncture, Chinese medicine and Enuresis

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), views enuresis as a disorder of water metabolism. In TCM, the three organs that control water metabolism are the Lungs, the Spleen and the Kidneys. Enuresis is usually explained in TCM as a deficiency of the energy of one or more of these organs. The Heart and the Liver may also play a part.

Call around and see if you can find an acupuncturist who has experience treating children.  While their are certified pediatric acupuncturists, most general practitioners have a family practice and treat patients of all ages.

Your acupuncturist will have to look at the the specific signs and symptoms of your condition as well as the state of your overall health to determine if Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can help you.  Each case is unique and it would be difficult to determine your Chinese medical diagnosis or treatment plan without a full assessment. Please contact several licensed acupuncturists in your area for a consultation to find the best practitioner for you.
