Commentary
Xi Jiao (Rhinoceros Horn) is an endangered species. Cornu Bubali (Shui Niu Jiao) can be used in its place. Herbal Category: Cool Blood

Actions & Indications

Relieves Pathogenic Heat in the Blood and Stops Bleeding.
For extreme heat, very high fever, and reckless movement of hot Blood. Stops convulsions, delirium, epistaxis, and vomiting Blood.

Sedates Convulsions. For tremors from heat entering the Ying or Blood levels, with loss of consciousness, tremor, or delirium.

Purges Fire and Reduces Toxins.  For erythema, purpura, erysipelas, and maculation.

Safety Issues
Contraindicated during pregnancy, or for heat from blood deficiency.

Only use for excess conditions, caution in cases of qi deficiency causing rash or lack of heat.

Interactions
Do not use with Radix Aconiti Carmichaeli
(chuan wu), Sclerotium Omphaliae Lapidescens (lei wan), or Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii (zhi cao wu).
