Event Description

Course Description

The Nan Jing/Classic of Difficulties, one of the foundational Han dynasty classics of Chinese Medicine tradition, contains a gold mine of diagnostic information. The first 22 chapters (out of 81) are devoted to pulse discrimination. The secret of pulse diagnosis revealed in the Nan Jing is sensitivity to time and timing, and how seasonal, lunar, solar, and twenty-four hour cycles influence what we feel as we palpate. We will examine:
1) Pulse positions & depths and their interpretation
2) Five phase influences and inter-relationships expressed in the pulse as Seasonal pulses and their expression
3) How to integrate zang-fu and channel pulse readings
4) Relationships of pulses to Nan Jing style treatments using 5 transporting points
And more
