About Polina Bowler
“East meets West can be seen as Yin and Yang of the universal forces. The point is not to see them as right or wrong, but to be at the convergence of these two great medical traditions and this is my goal." I've been running a private practice in L.A. since 1997. I specialize in treating chronic disorders, as well as, depression, anxiety, and addiction control. I traveled the Orient for over a year studying the philosophy and ancient medical systems of the East. In Shanghai, I volunteered at an HIV clinic and attended seminars on treating HIV with herbs.
After receiving my MTOM from Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine in 1997, I worked as an assistant supervisor to the school, and as an acupuncturist in The Care Center, a pain control clinic in Encino, CA.
In 1999-2000 I conducted research on Oriental Medicine as it compares to Western anti-depressant medications in the treatment of depression with celebrated doctor and author Dr. K. Kim Ph.D., OMD, L.Ac. and in association with Dr. Bistritsky M.D., Psychiatrist and Director of the UCLA Mood Disorder Clinic.”
