Michael Lay, L.Ac. has been in his practice since 2001 at Uptown Acupuncture LLC in Denver, Colorado. At Uptown Acupuncture, Michael specializes in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Through the use of electro-acupuncture, acupuncture, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping and many other modalities Michael works to combine the best of Eastern and Western medicine. At Uptown Acupuncture Denver each acupuncture treatment is tailored to the individual, to insure the best possible results. A thorough history and exam are performed so that Michael can give you the best possible outcome from your treatment. After the first visit a treatment plan will be discussed regarding your specific case. He will let you know how often he feels you need to come to help with your condition and then discuss how the acupuncture will help your needs. Michael Lay, L.Ac., received his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1996. From there he went on to receive his Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine in 2001. Also in 2001 Michael received his certificate in Acupuncture Orthopedics from The American Acupuncture Academy in Los Angeles, California. He also finished an Advanced Course in Acupuncture and Moxibustion form the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in Beijing, China later that same year. In addition Michael completed a 6 month apprenticeship program in Acupuncture Sports Medicine with the world renown Whitfield Reaves. Michael has also taken numerous seminars and workshops focusing on Orthopedics and Sports Medicine from such instructors as Matt Callison and Frank He over the years. He is also certified in clean needle technique and undergoes constant learning as is required for his national certification.
