AcQPoint Acupuncture and Wellness Center is a clinic for Traditional Chinese Medicine which includes acupuncture, moxibustion (heat therapy) and herbology, as well as preventative and complementary medicine, fitness maintenance, facial rejuvenation and therapeutic massage. Diane Sheppard, Ph.D., L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbologist. Her career spans 25 years, starting with studies in Shiatsu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong at the Tao of Healing Arts and the Taoist Institute in California. In 1990 she traveled to China to work at Guan An Men Hospital and to study at the Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center where she became certified in Tui-Na - Chinese orthopedic manipulation, learning acupuncture there as well and practicing Tai Chi and Ba-gua. Back in the U.S., Diane treated many well-known celebrities as a bodyworker, and created the JenZen Chinese Herbal Pillow Co. Returning to school at Samra University for her Masters degree in TCM she graduated as valedictorian, while treating a record number of patients in the school's clinic. In 2005 she returned to China, where she practiced acupuncture in 6 different hospitals specializing in combining eastern and western medicine. Completing her Doctorate in Asian Medicine, Diane’s award winning dissertation comparing acupuncture styles and history in China, Korea and Japan is soon to be published as a book. Dr. Sheppard also recently joined the staff at Eisenhower Hospital’s George and Julia Argyros Health Center and works closely with many of the medical doctors there.
Along with Dr. Sheppard, AcQPoint also offers the services of Toru Kodama, L.Ac., an acupuncturist who trained, and has practiced, both in the US and Japan. Along with his general practice Toru specializes in Men’s health issues, smoking cessation, weight loss and his special Iron Moxatechnique.
