About Carie Bernard
I use a gentle style of acupuncture and tailor my treatments to the specific needs of each individual patient. I use many non-needle techniques as well as cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, magnets, ear seeds, essential oils and more.
I was first introduced to Oriental Medicine at age 16. This early, positive experience using acupuncture and Chinese herbs to strengthen and support over-all health and well-being had a profound impact on me. This led to me study of Reiki, yoga, meditation and ultimately to obtain my Master in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
I hold a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree (MAOM) from New England School of Acupuncture, the oldest accredited acupuncture school in the country. I received additional training from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA. I have worked in clinical settings such as the NICU (Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit) and pediatric out-patient departments at Boston Medical Center, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA, Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center and a variety of private clinical settings.
I am board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed practitioner in the states of Maine and Massachusetts.
