About Dr. Shasta Ericson

Dr. Shasta Ericson L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM) is a second-generation acupuncturist and has been licensed for nearly 30 years running a private practice. Born into a natural medicine family, she was raised with natural health care as a way of life. She had the unique opportunity to study with several accomplished doctors and master practitioners. She gained a rare perspective in the practice of natural by studying with Dr. Miriam Lee O.M.D. for a year and a half after becoming licensed. Shasta is a certified Yoga Instructor through the Ashtanga Yoga Institute. Shasta treats infertility, pain, anxiety/insomnia, allergies and other internal medicine issues (thyroid imbalances), and has a special interest in treating men and woman to enhance their fertility either naturally or in conjunction with western gynecologists - reproductive endocrinologists. Shasta uses all aspects of Chinese medicine: acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, self massage, and exercise to promote natural health and wellbeing. Dr. Shasta specializs in holistic fertility, antiaging including micro needling and cosmetic acupuncture and pain.

Dr. Shasta completed an extensive clinical internship successfully fulfilling the requirements of the Medical Board of California Acupuncture Committee tutorial program. In addition, she studied the application and principles of Western, Chinese and Ayurveda herbology in the American School of Herbalism, also under the guidance of Christopher Hobbs, L. Ac. Furthermore she expanded her knowledge by studying oriental nutrition food therapy with author Darlena La’Orange L. Ac.

Dr. Shasta’s training encompasses the completion of a clinical internship in advanced acupuncture and T.C.M. with Dr. Miriam Lee, L.Ac., O.M.D., founder and president of the American Acupuncture Association.

As a licensed primary health care provider she is certified through the State of California Acupuncture Committee, as well as the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She received a masters level degree in Acupuncture from the Florida School of Complementary Medicine and is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild.

Dr. Shasta has worked for The Center for Integrative Medicine at O’Connor Hospital as well as having lectured on Chinese Medicine at The Stanford Center for Integrative Medicine for the Cancer Supportive Care program. Shasta has also been interviewed on CNBC Channel 3 demonstrating acupuncture, as well as having been featured twice in the San Jose Mercury news on Chinese Medicine.

CurrentlyDr. Shasta operates a full-time practice as a general practitioner in T.C.M. Her unique approach incorporates a total health program aimed at achieving whole life enrichment. Additionally, she specializes in pain management, women’s health, weight loss and infertility
