About Li Zhang
My name is Li Zhang, L.Ac., M.D.from China, M.S. I am a licensed acupuncturist with over twenty years of education and experience. I majored in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in college and practiced in Shanghai before moving to the United States.
I graduated from Chendu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. I have eight years of education in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Graduating top of my class from both Universities led me to gain a position with the largest acupuncture clinic and research center in China, Shanghai acupuncture and moxibustion institution. Selection for a position there is very competitive and it was a great honor to hold that position.
I worked there as an acupuncturist for six years before I came to the USA. Because of my education and previous work experiences I have great knowledge in combining acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to treat various internal chronic conditions and pain. A few of the many illnesses I am familiar with treating include: infertility, migraine, menstrual discomfort, menopause, arthritis, sport injuries, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, neurodegenerative disease, stroke rehabilitation, neuromuscular paralysis, Parkinson's disease, hypertension, any chronic pain and numbness, diarrhea, etc. In addition to this I also was specialty trained in pediatric acupressure in China. I have more than twenty publications and one book, Pediatric Acupressure, published.
