About Dorothy Chae
Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Herbology. Individualized herbal decoction prepared for each patient.
In 1998, the National Institute of Health (NIH) released a consensus statement that acupuncture may help low back pain, osteoarthritis, headache, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, migraine, asthma, carpal-tunnel syndromes, dysmenorrhea, stroke rehabilitation, chemotherapy related nausea and vomiting, drug addictions, and other conditions that involve chronic pain.
In my practice, besides treating the above conditions, I specialize in women’s health issues, such as infertility, gynecology(uterine fibroids, endometriosis, PCO), mental health (anxiety and depression), pregnancy, postpartum care, weight problems and menopause.
I realize that finding a well trained acupuncturist is not an easy task. I am a National Board Certified acupuncturist, and herbalist, licensed in New York and New Jersey State. I have received a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from Mercy college’s Graduate Program and Ph.D in Oriental Medicine from American Liberty University. I interned at the Center of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, New York. In addition, I have been a licensed pharmacist in New York State for over twenty years.
I use gentle techniques by using disposable needles to reduce any discomfort associated with needling. Actually, most of my patients will say it is painless.
