About Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University
WELCOME TO THE MINNESOTA COLLEGE OF ACUPUNCTURE AND ORIENTAL MEDICINE!
What makes the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine unique?
At the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MCAOM), we see health care as both an art and a science. This view is reflected in the scope and diversity of our curriculum and in the expertise of our skilled and knowledgeable faculty members. Our graduates have consistently established themselves as successful health care professionals in their communities. MCAOM student interns provide acupuncture and Oriental medicine services in community clinics around the area, including the Aliveness Project, a non-profit organization providing services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
Master's Degree Programs in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
MCAOM offers two programs of study - a master's degree in Oriental medicine and a master's degree in Acupuncture. The Oriental medicine program consists of 3,000 hours, which take approximately three years to complete. The Acupuncture program consists of 2,300 hours, which takes less than three years to complete.
MCAOM delivers the best education in its acupuncture and Oriental medicine by combining the following benefits:
- Northwestern offers master's degree programs in Oriental medicine and acupuncture.
- Graduates of the program have the education and skills necessary to develop a successful practice based on their own style.
- Northwestern's multi-national faculty, many of whom were trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine programs in China, is committed to academic and professional excellence.
- The master's degree programs emphasize a unified understanding of the mind, body and spirit inherent in Oriental Medicine.
- Federal financial aid is available for eligible MCAOM students.
- Our campus rests on 25 beautifully-landscaped acres, conveniently located near some of the state's largest, most popular attractions.
- Northwestern has a limited enrollment, allowing for a more personal and close-knit atmosphere.
- Northwestern boasts state-of-the-art facilities for educational and recreational purposes.
- The Woodwinds Natural Care Center on the Woodwinds Health Campus, which features a healthy collaboration between conventional medicine and natural health care, is just one of our many pioneering clinical education programs.
- Career Services office assists students in finding jobs after graduation.
