About Tomoya Akashi
Tomoya uses a gentle needling technique to treat a wide variety of
conditions and provides affordable treatments at his clinic in south
central Austin.
He was born and raised in Japan, and he came over to US to study English after graduating from a junior high school. After earning a bachelor's degree in accounting, he worked in the high-tech industry for almost 10 years while working on the second degree in computer information system.
He graduated from Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA), and he is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, the highest certification of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He received Tuina bodywork training and went through an internship under the guidance of Dr. Fan at AOMA. He is certified to practice Tuina by American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA). |
