About Muki Ramsey
Muki Ramsey, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., M.S. O.M.
Practice: Muki' maintains a thriving clinic, called Zen Medicinals, at the Wilshire Plaza, just south of Thomas on Scottsdale Rd. He also treats patients at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
Credentials: Muki is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of Arizona, having earned a Masters in Science of Oriental Medicine from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA), the first nationally accredited, four-year school for traditional Chinese medicine here in the valley. He is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl.O.M.), meaning he is nationally certified (NCCAOM) as a Chinese Herbalist as well. In 1998, Muki earned a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, a public honors college, where he focused his studies on Eastern Religious Traditions. In 2006, Muki completed the International Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Program at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Sichuan Province of China. In 2007, he was the recipient of the Kathy Salisbury Award for Excellence and Creativity in Herbal Formulation. Muki is currently an Associate Professor at the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
Why Chinese Medicine?: “I was drawn to traditional Chinese medicine as a way to resolve my own life-long battle with fibromyalgia, which is a condition of constant, unexplainable pain in the body. After several months of treatment with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, I am now symptom-free. I have a great enthusiasm for helping people with pain management and all kinds of chronic disorders that seem to slip under the radar of modern, conventional medicine.”
Specialties: Although Muki maintains a general practice for all kinds of health problems, he specializes in resolving acute and chronic pain, women’s health issues, infertility, insomnia, cigarette smoking, chronic fatigue, and emotional disorders.
Personal Life: Muki is 35 years-old and has been blissfully married to his wife, Keri, for four years. Keri is studying to be a nurse. They look forward to bringing Eastern and Western medicine together in a joint practice someday.
Treatment Rates: Muki firmly believes in offering this “medicine of the people” at family-affordable rates. Please call the office to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, at (480) 730-4991. We will gladly accept your insurance.
