About Tatiana Rubio
Tatiana Rubio is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and certified birth doula (labor assistant). She combines traditional Chinese medicine with her own intuitive style to support women during the transition from pregnancy to birth and new motherhood. Tatiana specializes in pre-birth acupuncture treatments which, combined with deep relaxation and guided imagery, prepare a woman physically, mentally and spiritually for birth. Studies have shown that these treatments can shorten labor time, ease the delivery process, and reduce the occurrence of post (due) date babies.
Tatiana views pregnancy and birth as a powerful rite of passage that can empower women in a way that no other life experience can. She seeks to honor the immense physical, emotional and spiritual changes taking place during this unique time.
As a mother herself, Tatiana also understands the challenges that a new parent faces during the post-partum period. She treats post-partum depression, lactation difficulties and fatigue. She also does placenta preparation, a little known way to greatly tonify the body after delivery and significantly reduce the risk of post-partum depression.

Tatiana Rubio received her B.A. from Williams College in Massachusetts and received her master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Emperor's College in Santa Monica in 2000. She has completed additional training in gynecology and obstetrics and has assisted many women throughout their pregnancies and in the delivery room as well.
