About Oscar Abraham
Oscar Abraham, M.S., L.Ac., L.M.T., graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from Touro College Graduate Program in Oriental Medicine in 2006, and was granted a diploma in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in 1999. Oscar’s interest in both acupuncture and massage stems from his long-standing love of the martial arts that he studied for many years and for which he received a black belt in karate from the Tora Dojo Martial Arts system.
Oscar treats patients utilizing both acupuncture and massage to help restore health and wellness into his patients’ lives. He believes that individuals must wholeheartedly participate in their own well-being and recommends activities to bring harmony into their lives. His martial arts background gives him a great understanding of the body and the way that postural distortions and structural imbalances can often result in dysfunction, pain and illness. In addition, he observes how the effects of stress, anxiety and other mental disharmony cause physical dysfunction in the body. He believes that breaking the vicious cycle that these conditions create is a first step required for mental and physical health.
Oscar's clinic, Third Way Acupuncture, focuses on musculoskeletal complaints, GI disharmony, women's health issues and symptoms of anxiety and insomnia. Oscar has successfully treated a host of other complaints including headache, chronic fatigue syndrome, TMJ, rhinitis and other maladies.
In addition to his private practice, Oscar studies Tai Chi and Ba Qua, teaches massage therapy and martial arts and is available for lectures on the benefits of Chinese medicine and massage.
