About Simone Sturm
Simone Sturm, L.Ac. is licensed to practice acupuncture in California and New York and is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Simone is also certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique.
Simone completed a four-year Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. She graduated valedictorian from her graduating class and was awarded both the Baron Gold Award for academic excellence and the Kamwo Herbs Award for academic achievement in traditional Chinese medical herbology for her studies at PCOM.
As part of her clinical education, Simone had the unique opportunity to practice at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she gained valuable experience providing acupuncture to women during childbirth, for pain reduction during labor, and to facilitate delivery. She also practiced at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, Initiative for Women with Disabilities, a program providing medical care to women who suffer from physical disabilities and chronic illnesses such as Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Simone currently practices at the Berkeley Integrative Healing Clinic in Berkeley, CA. The practitioner team at BKIHC is comprised of an MD (board certified in both family and holistic medicine), a holistic chiropractor, and acupuncturist/Chinese herbalist and a massage therapist. The entire team strongly believes in bringing together healing therapies in a collaborative effort to guide our patients to wholeness and wellness.
Simone strongly supports the integration of Eastern and Western Medicine in treating illness and maintaining the best health possible.
