About Tina Yang
BACKGROUND
Tina Yang is a 4th generation Chinese Medical Practitioner. She is California Board Certified as an Acupuncturist and Herbalist.
TRAINING
She received her Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University where she was honored for outstanding academic achievement. Understanding her own desire to aid and help others in need she began her undergraduate studies at The California State University of Long Beach, where she graduated with Honors in Business Marketing.
EXPERIENCE
Tina has over eight years of clinical internship and private practice experience. She has practiced in several integrative clinics, including the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at UCI, which incorporated allopathic medicine and other complementary healing modalities such as Chinese herbal medicine, Naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and massage.
Tina has been involved in the development of a new patient care system for an HIV Clinic where she also participated in an outreach program to AIDS patients. In this program, she educated patients on Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and how to manage the chronic conditions associated with AIDS such as fatigue, digestive and appetite disorders, neuropathy, insomnia, and depression.
Tina is a member of the herbal medicine review board at the University of California, Irvine and she is also involved in an integrative Medicine Research project at the Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine at UCI.
Being rooted in Chinese medicine since childhood, Tina was attracted towards the art of natural healing. Personally passionate about preventative medicine she continues to investigate new ways to help people stay healthy. She empowers her patients to take responsibility for their own health and to be involved in their own healing process.
INDIVIDUAL FOCUSED TREATMENT
All of her patient care plans treat the basic cause of the illness rather than just the symptoms of that disease. She observes and listens attentively to each patient focusing her treatments on their specific needs and goals. These treatments incorporate many aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary and lifestyle guidance.
AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION
Tina specializes in pain management, stress reduction, allergies, digestive disorders, infertility and other women's health issues.
