About Rahmie Valentine
To see a video interview with practitioner CLICK HERE AND WATCH THE ART OF HEALING VIDEO Dr. Rahmie Valentine, O.M.D., L.Ac., began her studies in the field of Chinese Medicine in 1982. She is a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, and a licensed acupuncturist in California, South Carolina and Georgia. In addition, she holds national certifications in herbology and acupuncture with the NCCAOM. Her later training in this medicine involved living in Asia and pursuing doctoral studies in Los Angeles. Her Doctor of Oriental Medicine dissertation on herbal and acupuncture interventions in HIV/AIDS (1988) was one of the earliest and most comprehensive works in that field. She taught acupuncture at the professional level in Los Angeles, where she maintained a private practice for eighteen years until moving to coastal South Carolina in 2004. She has served the acupuncture profession both through local Los Angeles educational projects for the California Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and at the state level as its legislative vice president (1988-1992). A licensed pilot, she organized volunteer acupuncturist participation in clinics in rural northern Mexico through a “flying doctors” project (1990-1991). Her commitment to public health programs has lead to various involvements with community organizations as a volunteer and as a paid consultant, instructor/trainer and lecturer. A lifetime interest in animals led to an internship as a veterinary acupuncturist while still in acupuncture school. A natural extension of this dedication and interest led to increasing work with pets, culminating in the ownership of a holistic veterinary clinic in Santa Monica, California, in 1998.One of the first NAET trained practitioners (1990), she began teaching the NAET advanced material in 1995 in the U.S. and the Basic class in Europe, in 2000. She continues to be the sole instructor of the Veterinary adaptation of NAET to holistic veterinarians in this country and abroad.
Dr. Valentine maintains a “human” private practice in Bluffton, South Carolina with an emphasis on allergies and pain management, while continuing to offer holistic veterinary care and consultations to various clinics. She is often sought as an expert consultant for articles and interviews on holistic allergy treatment.
