About Michael Futterman

Dr. Futterman was awarded his Masters Degree in Acupuncture, Herbology and Oriental Medicine from the New York College for Wholistic Health, Education and Research in Syosset, NY. He subsequently received his Diplomate from the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and has been an active member of the Acupuncture Society of New York and worked to make acupuncture as recognized as western medicine under New York State's Insurance laws. As an educator he has hosted numerous workshops designed to open new ideas in the practice of acupuncture/oriental medicine for today's demands.

As a licensed practitioner, his goal is to bring to young and old, alike, the healing and balance that oriental medicine enables; to rid us of the dis-ease that arises in our daily lives. As well, it is to awaken the synergy that exists from birth between the body, mind and spirit which enables us to live our lives with clarity and vision.

"Treatment is not a one-way street". Those who come for treatment will find that their experience is a mutually shared responsible relationship. Each individual IS different and is given the time and focus required in order that your treatment be created specifically for you. Many types and modes of treatment may be combined to achieve the end result - acupuncture, herbs, movement therapy, sound, cupping, etc. as needed to achieve the end result including, and most importantly, the patient his/herself! How can the end result be obtained and sustained without the individual efforts of the patient. This is no "take a pill and call me in the morning" practice.

Whether you wish to simply de-stress your life, lose weight, stop smoking, recover from an injury, get a good night's sleep, deal with chronic pain or acute pain, etc, or work on non-physically related issues, Dr. Futterman's practice is not limited by location. If you are too ill to travel or, as is the case with many senior patients who have no transportation or are just physically unable, home treatment may be arranged. His practice is by appointment only so that you may get the individual time for your individual need.
