About Jennifer Moffitt
Jennifer Moffitt has been actively involved in science and alternative medicine for over 20 years. She has a BS in Environmental Toxicology from UC Davis, after which she worked as a research scientist in analytical toxicology.
Her work in western science was coupled with a deep interest in traditional medicine. After years studying modalities such as reiki, therapeutic massage and homeopathy, she returned to pursue a graduate work in Oriental Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NY and San Diego campuses), where she graduated summa cum laude. She is Board Certified nationally in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
Jennifer has traveled extensively, both in the US and abroad, studying many forms of natural healing and herbology. She continues advanced studies in traditional Japanese acupuncture and herbology(Kampo).
She serves as a clinician for Project Viidai: Viaje Interinstitutional de Integracion, Docente, Assistencia y Investigacion, a joint venture with SDSU School of Public Health and Tijuana’s Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC) School of Medicine, with the goal of providing service to under served communities in Mexico and promoting health with no boundaries.
Formerly a Clinical Instructor in Family Medicine at UCSD, she continues to lecture and serve as an academic advisor for graduate student research in complementary and integrative medicine, and as an approved CME course provider for the CA Acupuncture Board. She maintains a bilingual practice in San Diego, serving patients on both sides of the border.
