About Li Zhang
My name is Li Zhang, L.Ac., O.M.D., M.S. I am a licensed acupuncturist with many years of education and experience. I majored in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in college and practiced in Shanghai before moving to the United States.
I graduated from Chendu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. I have eight years of education in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Graduating magna cum laude from both Universities led me to gain a position with the largest acupuncture center in China, Shanghai acupuncture and moxibustion institution. Selection for a position there is very competitive and it was a great honor to hold that position.
I worked there as an acupuncturist for six years before I came to the USA. Because of my education and previous work experiences I have great knowledge in combining acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to treat various internal chronic conditions and pain. A few of the many illnesses I am familiar with treating include: stroke rehabilitation, neuromuscular paralysis, Parkinson's disease, hypertension, migraine, neurodegenerative disease, arthritis, sport injuries, any chronic pain and numbness, menstrual discomfort, menopause, infertility, diarrhea, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome. In addition to this I also was specialty trained in pediatric acupressure in China. I have more than twenty publications and one book, Pediatric Acupressure, published.
