About C. Zinnia Maravell
Zinnia is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has taken advanced courses in Pulse Reading and Five Elements acupuncture. She has over 20 years of experience teaching movement using the Alexander Technique. In addition, she teaches Yoga, Qi Gong and Tai Qi. Along with her private practice, she works at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Washington. Besides her career in movement education, she is a widely exhibited visual artist. Zinnia graduated from Bryn Mawr College and has an M.B.A. from University of Chicago "My goal as an acupuncturist is not only to eliminate the condition but to also to teach people how to maintain their own good health." Getting Started The initial visit requires about 2 hours. This visit includes a half hour pulse reading, complete medical history, acupuncture exam and treatment. Subsequent visits are about 45 minutes. The patient can choose to learn systems that enhance the effect of acupuncture treatments such as the Alexander Technique for better posture. Good posture allows energy to flow freely, improves breathing and organ functioning. Other methods are Yoga and Qi Gong which improve health by removing energy blockages. Cheerful environment.
