About Lynn Almloff

Partnering you in restoring health and maintaining wellness.
Providing gentle and compassionate care in a professional setting.

Lynn M. Almloff, M.Ac., L.Ac. Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM) has been a licensed health care practitioner for over 25 years. She received her BS degree in Dental Hygiene from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1979. After working several years as a dental hygienist she developed neck and shoulder pain as a result of her working position. She tried many modalities and acupuncture was the one that gave her lasting relief. Lynn was so impressed with acupuncture that in 1994 she enrolled at the prestigious Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, MD (In 1981 “TAI” was the first acupuncture school in the US to be accredited. Today it is TAI Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD). After completing 2428 hours of study including 1038 hours of supervised clinical training, she was awarded a Master’s degree in Acupuncture. (M.Ac.). Lynn then continued her studies at the Institute for an additional two years in Chinese Herbology. This 480 hour accredited post graduate program included 180 hours of supervised clinical training.

Lynn is licensed to practice acupuncture by the Virginia Board of Medicine, the DC Board of Medicine and the California Board of Acupuncture. She is National Board certified (Diplomate) in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She was the first practitioner in Hampton Roads to be National Board certified in Chinese Herbology (Dipl.CH)

Lynn is a member in good standing with the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance, the American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAOM), the Acupuncture Society of the District of Columbia (ASDC) and the Acupuncture Society of Virginia (ASVA). Lynn served the Acupuncture Society of Virginia as President 1998-2000 and as Board Member at Large 1997-1998.

Lynn Almloff is a recognized coast to coast, having had successful acupuncture practices in both the Washington, DC and San Francisco (Marin) areas. She happily relocated to Hampton Roads in 2003. In addition to practicing acupuncture Lynn Almloff is a sought after speaker and teacher. She has taught classes on various aspects of acupuncture, advanced healing methods, herbs, living in harmony with the seasons and self care. Lynn is available for speaking engagements.
