About John Nieters
John Nieters, L.Ac., DAOM (c), MSTCM is an expert in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with over 30 years of study and experience. John is available to see patients in his Alameda Clinic, John also hosts 'The Balancing Point' a weekly radio show on health, nutrition and herbs every Thursday 8am on KEST 1450 AM. He combines an extensive knowledge base with compassionate care.
John is best known for treating chronic health conditions and degenerative diseases known as “knotty” conditions in Chinese Medicine. Some conditions John treats are: Post-Stroke Recovery, M.S., Parkinson’s, Cholesterol and Circulatory Disorders, Diabetes, Endocrine Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Immune Dysfunction, Inflammation, Insomnia and Sleep Disorders.
John usually focuses on a longer visit with patients and asks that people bring in their laboratory results as part of the consultation. Some areas that might be covered in addition to the standard focus of Traditional Chinese Medicine are herbs, herb/drug interaction, lifestyle changes, qi gong, meditation and nutrition.
As a Diplomate National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics and a Doctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China with an Orthopedic and Pain Management Specialization, John has extensive post-graduate training in Orthopedics and Pain Management.
John has studied with Dr. Jiao Shunfa, the creator of the head acupuncture system now used throughout China. He has also studied with Dr. Shi, who has treated over 1 million stroke patients. According to the WHO, Dr. Shi’s stroke hospital in China has the highest post-stroke recovery rate of any hospital in the world.
