About Guorong Du
Kimberly Guorong Du, C.M.D., L.Ac. graduated from Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1983, and has been practicing traditional Chinese medicine since then.
She practiced as doctor of traditional Chinese medicine from 1983 to 1992 and as principal doctor of traditional Chinese medicine from 1992 to 1995 at Wuhan Commercial Hospital in China which provides multiple functions with 500 beds. Her experience in the hospital included:
Clinical Services: Acupuncture and Chinese medicine for treatments of chronic diseases or those that do not respond to Western medicine very well, such as sequela of stroke, facial paralysis, headache (including migraine), stiff neck, low back pain, sciatica, sprain, arthritis, female or male infertility problem, malposition of fetus, menstrual disorder, dysmenorrhea, depression, asthma, sinusitis, high blood pressure, diabetes, stomachache, diarrhea, constipation, cold, flu, and cough.
Hospital Wards: Responsible for treatments for inpatients who either did not respond to or experienced strong side-effects from Western medicine, by using Chinese natural medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion or combinations of them to treat diseases such as threatened and recurrent (habitual) miscarriage, aplastic anemia; sciatica; tumors, rheumarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
Medical Consultant: Consulted and cooperated with Western medical practitioners to improve the effectiveness of medical treatments of diseases for inpatients, such as cardiovascular disease, arrhythmia, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pneumonia, stroke, high blood pressure, fever, hepatitis, threatened and recurrent miscarriages, dribbling urinary block, and side effects from radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
House Calls: Visited and treated patients who have difficulties with mobility. For instance, using acupuncture and Chinese medicine to improve or cure hemiplegia, asthma, disc prolapse, etc.
Training Instructions: Spoke on various topics at clinical seminars, and supervised interns and new practitioners.
Kimberly Du has published several articles about clinical research in traditional Chinese medicine, such as ' Studies of Wasting-Thirst Disease (like Diabetes) by Applying Wasting-Thirst Formula with Modifications', 'Clinical Study with Applications of Pinellia Heart-Draining Decoction', '28 Clinical Cases Studies of Treatment of Facial Paralysis with Acupuncture and Moxibustion', 'Smoking Over the Zhiyin (B67) Acupoint to Correct Malposition of Fetus 30 Cases'.
Later from 1996 to 1997, she visited and practiced in Brussels, Belgium.
In 1998 she came to the USA and worked as a medical consultant in the Chinese community. Then she started to practice in Greater Washington DC Area. In the US she has successfully treated many patients with different kinds of diseases, specializing in stroke, aphasia, facial paralysis, infertility problem, back pain, shoulder pain, depression, stomach pain, and cough.
