About David Tharp
David is a state and nationally licensed acupuncturist. He has been practicing with good clinical results for several years. David studied Chinese Medicine in Austin, Texas with some of the country’s top Chinese medical doctors. David’s training includes a four year master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, which involves the practice of acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, and other adjunct therapies. He is also nationally certified in the creation and dispensing of Chinese herbal formulas.
David originally grew up in Columbia, Tennessee and later moved to Knoxville. As a native of Tennessee, David finds great pleasure in bringing Chinese medicine to the Chattanooga area.
After practicing in Austin, David spent three years practicing in Chattanooga in a multi-disciplinary medical center where he had the opportunity to see and treat many complex health issues. His belief in whole health and in working in conjunction with other health care providers underlies the foundation of his practice.
He now practices in his own clinic, White Tortoise Acupuncture, in a beautifully renovated section of Red Bank.
