About Meredith Chunyi
Dr. Chunyi, L.Ac., M.D., as her patients fondly call her: “is a genuinely unique, talented, and personable individual.”
Dr. Chunyi has spent the majority of her life healing the sick and putting the needs of patients ahead of her own. Dr. Chunyi has always strived to be the best: she received the top medical training in China, graduated first in her medical class and then continued to study at the extremely prestigious Institute of Acupuncture in Beijing, China (which is professionally recognized as the leading Oriental Medical University in the world) where she earned her Masters in Acupuncture Science.
There at the Institute of Acupuncture, Dr. Chunyi displayed so much promise and skill as a future Acupuncturist that she was hand-picked by the #1 Acupuncture practitioner in China to be his apprentice. During her apprenticeship, Dr. Chunyi absorbed all the wisdom and skill taught to her by her mentor, and has since then established herself in the Acupuncture community as a truly masterful practitioner.
Dr. Chunyi’s accomplishments doesn’t end there: she has been studying, researching, teaching, and practicing Medicine since 1978 and because of her tremendous ability, she has lectured, consulted, and treated patients all around the world including Italy, Israel, England, France, Egypt, Jordan, and the United States. Some notable dignitaries that Dr. Chunyi has treated in the past include parliament members, an international finance leader in Washington D.C., and the late King of Jordan at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Chunyi also spent seven years in Israel practicing Oriental Medicine as the head of the Integrative Medicine Department at the eminent Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Israel. During her tenure, she was able to combine her skills in Conventional and Chinese Medicine to treat patients whose treatment ranged from Gynecology, where she had helped many couples solve their infertility problems, Oncology where she effortlessly performed pain control on patients undergoing chemotherapy, to patients exhibiting phantom pain in the Orthopedic and Neurologic departments. As a result of her stay in Tel Aviv, Israel, Dr. Chunyi also became proficient in Hebrew.
Over the course of her medical career, Dr. Chunyi has treated over 150,000 patients and has taught more than 5,000 medical doctors and students all over the world about Acupuncture & Chinese Herbology. She has also contributed to six professional books (two of which she was the main author), and numerous publications about Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbs.
Dr. Chunyi has been a full time professor and clinic supervisor since 1998 at a University of Oriental Medicine where she continues to share her passion and expertise of Acupuncture with future generations of practitioners.
In addition to Dr. Chunyi’s commitment and dedication to her educational endeavors, she maintains an active private Acupuncture & Herbology practice in the heart of Beverly Hills. Her exceptional skills and treatment results have garnered her accolades and recognition of many western doctors in the Los Angeles region.
