About Hongzhi Liang
Mr. Hongzhi Liang, is a licensed acupuncturist in Maryland and D.C., where he has practiced TCM since 1993.
His extensive education and clinical experience includes the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he graduated from in 1976, followed by ten years of clinical work at the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China's leading institutions for the study and practice of TCM. Mr. Liang also worked in China as an attending physician and sponsored national research projects on anti-aging, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease, etc. based on treatment options utilizing traditional Chinese herb prescriptions, before moving to the U.S.
In 1992, he received his master's degree in Heath Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Liang was an instructor at the former Maryland School of Acupuncture for eight years.
He is a board member of the Chinese Association of TCM, and has spoken at national conferences in China and the U.S., and has published two books and more than ten articles on the subject. Mr. Liang is widely recognized for his numerous successful treatment cases of orthroarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, syndrome and symptoms post chemotherapy, and accident based injuries involving motor vehicles, surgical procedures and complications from post operative scar tissue and adhesions. He can treat various forms of pain and symptoms caused by many diseases.
What differentiates Liang's method from other acupuncturists is his unique approach and technique--which combines the practice and personal development of Qigong (personal meditation) with the formal application of acupuncture based on meridian points and the four elements. This highly personal technique involves the practitioner's accurate and correct differentiation and diagnostic application of TCM methodology to each individual patient based on his/her problem.
Mr. Liang experience and skills in using Chinese herbs, as well as his long-term clinical practice and excellent experience and knowledge of the field has evolved over many years. His quiet demeanor and gentle personality contribute much to the sensitive nature of his treatment which is a gift of the natural health practitioner.
