About Carol Callen

Carol Lee Callen, D.O.M., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac NCCAOM, Dipl. Herbology NCCAOM

Carol Lee Callen's interest in Chinese medicine began over 20 years ago with her study of the classic texts of Taoism. It continued through her studies of natural methods of health care and maintenance, including nutrition, herbology, qigong, hatha yoga, and the intuitive healing arts.

Carol Lee Callen is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she maintains her private practice, offering acupuncture, microcurrent rejuvenation, herbal prescriptions and lifestyle counseling. Combining acupuncture, tuina and herbology with diet and lifestyle counseling, her specialties include women's health, cosmetic acupuncture, addiction, pain management and optimal wellness. Carol takes an integrative approach to healing that considers the whole person -- mind, body and spirit.

Her other professional certifications include: hatha yoga teacher, reiki master, hypnotherapist, transformational breathwork facilitator, and certifications in the intuitive arts.

Carol has authored a set of CD's of guided meditation: 'Awakening the Flow of Qi'. She is currently working on a cookbook, 'Five Seasons of Festival Feasting', which correlates traditional chinese food therapy to the festivals of the seasons and she's developing another internal arts workshop based on classical Taoist thought and traditional chinese medicine. Carol is featured in the 'Ask an Acupuncturist' column of 'Acupuncture Today' online magazine.
