About Wai Chiu

Some of Wai's patients’ testimonials:

“I am a 30-year-old woman who suffers from fibromyalgia. After having tried several different courses of treatment I decided to give acupuncture a try. After my first session I slept significantly better. I have only been treated for about 4 weeks but I can noticeably see the difference and the changes throughout my body. My pain has decreased, my sleep has improved, I have been able to resume some of the activities I enjoyed pre-fibromyalgia. My body has reacted to the treatments very quickly, which may not be the case for everyone. For me acupuncture has been amazing! It is the first treatment that has improved my condition significantly and a treatment (modality) I will continue and recommend to anyone.” -- E.J.

“I have suffered from migraine headaches since my teens. I am now 35 years old and they seem to be getting worse and my medication is no longer as effective as it used to be. I have wanted to try acupuncture for many years, but for financial reason I never had the opportunity. I have realized that my health is very important and I am tired of wasting money on medications that do not work and that have side effects, I have only had four sessions and I already feel a difference. I am still experiencing headaches, but they are less frequent and less severe.

Wai Chiu is also helping me with other ailments, such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and seasonal allergies. She spends a lot of time asking questions and talking to you every visit so she can treat your entire body. She explains exactly what your body is experiencing during the treatments and what you could expect to happen when you leave. I feel lucky to have such an intelligent and caring person treating me.

I feel very positive that acupuncture will help me feel better mentally and physically. I am also very satisfied that I choose Bayshore Acupuncture for my treatment. Sincerely,” – F.F.

“I was apprehensive initially but thankfully this is no longer the case. I have M.S. (multiple sclerosis) and unfortunately have to use a catheter to urinate. To my surprise slowly but surely, the sensation is returning on its own. It’s such a good feeling. I can’t begin to describe it. Acupuncture is slowly returning my independence, which anyone with M.S. knows you tend to lose at certain points of your life. I am thankful my overall spiritual as well as physical good feeling I won’t trade for the world. Thank you Wai.” – C.A.

"A while back, I went to a doctor because I had injured both of my wrists. The symptoms mimicked carpal tunnel syndrome. I could not bend my wrists or straightened my fingers. They would lock in a claw like position. The pain was unbearable and sleeping through the night was out of the question. My doctor suggested I seek alternative medicine as opposed to surgery.

I researched my injury on the internet and discovered three options for my affliction: acupuncture, laser therapy, or surgery. I opted for acupuncture and located Wai Chiu, C.A., M.S., of Bayshore Acupuncture & Traditional Medicine in Holmdel, NJ. I believed acupuncture would work, and I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. I got my hands back! My constant pain has significantly decreased. After two months of therapy I am almost completely healed. I now occasionally feel a dull/distant ache when I overuse my hands, but even that is improving as I continue my acupuncture treatments.

My acupuncturist is wonderful and knowledgeable. She is in my opinion an expert on Chinese medical techniques and practices, and has the healing hands of an angel. I am grateful and thankful for her inspiring dedication.” --Helena.
