Robert Keller has been involved in Chinese medicine since 1980. As a teenager his interest in health, nutrition, and Asian martial arts led him to study various systems of natural healing. These have included Western herbology, nutritional medicine, homeopathy, shiatsu and macrobiotics, as well as the Chinese medical modalities of acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and Chinese food therapy. Chinese medicine quickly became the focus of his studies and professional work.
Robert's formal training in Chinese medicine was at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture, where he studied from 1989 to 1992. His primary teachers were Mark Seem, Kiiko Matsumato, and Ted Kaptchuk. Since then, he has continued to study various aspects of Chinese medicine with some of the most well known practitioners in the field.
Robert is a Certified Acupuncturist is the state of New Jersey, and is board certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is a professional member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the New Jersey Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Robert has maintained a full-time, private practice of Chinese medicine since 1992. His interest and commitment lies in the authentic practice of Chinese medicine, based on the accurate diagnosis and treatment of illness according to the principles of Chinese medicine. Robert feels that this approach yields not only the most effective results, but also allows for greater understanding through which patients may learn to care for themselves.
The central focus of Robert's practice is to help patients get well, understand how they became ill, and learn the tools necessary to take care of themselves.
