About Yu Li Gao
Mr. Gao is a highly experienced Acupuncturist, Chinese massage therapist, and Herbologist. He graduated from the Second Military Medical University, Shanghai, China with a Medical Degree in Western Medicine, and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a degree in Acupuncture and Herbology. For over 20 years, Mr. Gao practiced as a medical doctor in China, practicing a combination of Western and Chinese medicine.
In the United States Mr. Gao is a certified Acupuncturist and Herbologist with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is licensed in Colorado and a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado. In total, he has been practicing Chinese Medicine for nearly 40 years.
Aided by his background in Western medicine, Mr. Gao has in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the meridians and acupuncture points. For each treatment he chooses a tailored combination of acupuncture points on different meridians, using less needles while achieving great results. His work is characterized by skill, care, and gentleness. The insertion of the needle is almost imperceptible to the patient, while obtaining Chi at the acupuncture points can be intense and stimulating. Mr. Gao uses moxibustion, cupping therapy and electrical stimulation when necessary. The choice as to treatment methods and acupuncture points is informed by the abundant experience Mr. Gao has accumulated in his nearly 40 years of practice.
Mr. Gao is similarly experienced and knowledgeable in Chinese herbal formulas. He composes the formulas for each individual patient by differentiating the symptoms and signs the patient is displaying. Mr. Gao assess the patient's overall balance by observing signs of Yin and Yang, exterior and interior, cold and heat, deficiency and excess. He makes differentiations based on the state of Qi and blood, and the pathological changes of the viscera and their interrelations, etc. He treats the patient as a whole person, and acts to balance the whole body's functioning. To accommodate the busy modern life styles of most patients, Mr. Gao uses concentrated herbal powder, which is dissolved in the hot water and drunk without cooking. He also uses raw herbs whenever necessary.
Mr. Gao is also an experienced Chinese massage therapist. Chinese massage focuses on manipulating a set of meridians, acupuncture points, deep tissues, and trigger points with a wide variety of techniques. Each massage is designed according to the patient's individual situation, and are effectively at releasing pain and tiredness, repairing damaged tissue, and recovering the body's functions. With his holistic and curative approach, Mr. Gao will find all the stress points on a patient's body, some of them even the patient was not aware of.
With his unique background and extensive experience, Mr. Gao has been successful at treating hundreds of patients with persistent and difficult problems. Many patients find relieve and hope with Mr. Gao when they were "at the end of (their) ropes." Please take a look at the testimonial section of our website.
Having taken the physician's oath in China, Mr. Gao always puts his patients' benefits first, and does everything he can to help his patients. He has a high ethical standard that is based on his care for his patients.
